Regarding Extensions

If you haven't tried extensions you should check them out. Its a great way to try out new looks with out damaging your hair. Here are two photos of me with my platinum blonde extensions. These are 100% human hair (again.. spare the details :P) and can be dyed to match what you are looking for. I purchased mine from Sally's in Jan for about $75. This particular line is found at Sally's Beauty Supply. I do not believe they can be purchased anywhere else, but I could be wrong. They just clip on and you are all set with full shiny hair. I only wear mine for that day and take them off. I do not wear them over night. These are 14 inches long and come in a pack of 10 pieces and 2 testers (for dying or cutting) I have seen the Jessica Simpson wigs/extensions at Ulta, but I haven't tried it out I don't think I will though cause Im soo happy with the ones I have.

Oh neat! I've never tried extensions, but always wanted to add highlights to my hair, but was always so afraid to. How do these work, just like a normal hair clip? Sorry, I'm new to this hair extension thing hehe

i think i'm gonna try it! thanks!

can you curl the extensions too?

ilurvemakeup: it's simple, there's an easy tutorial here: http://www.hisandher.com/faq_howwear.asp
Just scroll down and click clip on hair on the right side of the page :)

Oh, I bought those at Sally's too, but I haven't tried them yet. They look thinner than other clip-ins I've used, which might be good since I have thin hair and think extensions look funky on me.

Also (sorry..talknig too much), the Jessica Simpson extensions...well, I don't like them! They're not put in the traditional way clip-ins are put in, and they're more like really small wigs...they don't cover as much of your hair so it looks like you might need longer hair to start with..I dunno, but I wouldn't recommend them!

Oh, two more things: yes they can be curled (all human hair can be), and the Sally's clip-ins are the most inexpensive ones I could find in a store or online, so that's awesome! Okay, seriously...bye.

I find that extensions at most places are ridiculously over-priced. You can make your own clip-in extensions for about $20 for 12" extensions, about $30 for 14" extensions. The clips are sold for $1 a piece (at least at my store they are). The clips have little holes along the top, so all you need to do is measure the track of hair across your head, cut and seal the ends with a lighter, sew on a couple of clips, and viola! You've got extensions, more body/volume, and/or highlights!

To the girl who said her hair was too fine, you could try backcombing the hair right above the extensions to help hide them. Then you could do the pouf like in Pursebuzz's tutorial. You know, with the headband?

Oh, yeah I do, I like that tutorial. Making extensions would be a good idea, since usually the clip ins come in only two lengths (14" and 18") and two textures (silky straight and bodywave). Neat!

Hey Pursebuzz! I already purchased the 100% human hair a while ago. I've always used the glue bond but that stuff really grosses me out because its sticky, hard to take out, and has a bad odor to it =( So basically, I just have the hair extensions just chilling in my closet. So I'm wondering if I can just purchase some clip ons by itself without the hair extension? Thanks! =)

I would never have thought that those were extensions! Such a great tip if you want to do something new to your hair without the commitment! I will surely try something like this! Thanks for sharing!

you can buy clips for $1 at hisandher.com, or you can go to like Sally Beauty Supply and buy them. Then you just sew them on. It's easy :)

Are you wearing the extensions in the hair tutorials that you have done?
You comb right through you hair so I am assuming that was your own hair with platinum highlights.

How much are the clips @ Sallys Beauty Supplies and how many would I need? =)
